Hi Moana, I am so sorry to read that the Wordle site was not working. I would suggest, instead, that you use 'Tagul.' The link for the Tagul site is: https://tagul.com/.

It will work exactly the same way as the original 'Wordle site' did.

It would be really cool to see your packing list translated into a wordle, wouldn't it? You've certainly thought of a number of important items for your trip. It is certainly going to be warm in Perth so you'll want to make sure that you have plenty of bathing suits and, possibly, even a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the worst of the heat.

Nice job with this activity, Moana! You have clearly put a lot of effort into both Activity #1 and Activity #2. I hope that you'll have time for the Bonus Activity as well...

Keep up the great work with your blogging!

Rachel :-)

Hi Moana, I read your message from London where I live. Right now, its snowing here, so its lovely to imagine the warm weather that you're describing in Perth. The cool breeze sounds lovely to help when the weather is so warm there. Suzanne

Kia ora Moana!

I just wanted to say your blogging is going so, so well. I'm really enjoying them and think you must be a really excellent student. I bet your teachers think you're great!

I noticed that you seem to be missing something that could be super useful in your list. Do you want to guess what it is? It can play music and take pictures, it can show you the way, it can communicate, it can translate, and if you're bored, it can entertain you with games. What is it? haha : ) what a riddle!

On another note, do you know the difference between Fahrenheit and Celsius? I noticed that you used F rather than C temperatures.

I don't know if you're interested, but I have a little story a out the difference if you want to read it.

A long time ago, a Polish scientist invented the scale of Fahrenheit, using equal parts salt and water to make the temperature of 0 degrees on the thermometer (which was a 200 year old invention at that point, but he made a new version which used mercury - which made it more accurate). Then he used the average human temperature to make the high point of 96 degrees. And that is how the thermometer was marked so people could say what the temperature was. Sounds a bit strange, right?

Celsius, our measurement, was made because a scientist thought 'Fahrenheit is illogical. Salt water, human body heat? What do they have to do with anything? Why don't we just use the freezing and boiling points of something easy, like water?' and so he made ANOTHER scale on thermometers called degrees Celsius!

And that's what we use today! So, 0 degree Celsius is when it is so cold that water freezes, and 100 degrees Celsius is when water boils. Cool eh? In Fahrenheit those are 32 and 212. Such random numbers!

I know that the website probably automatically went to Fahrenheit because it is an American one, but there will be a button you can hit next time to change it.

Anyways! Keep up the great work! I hope my little story was interesting!

Kia kaha,

Mark

Hi Moana,

My name is Shanya from stonefields school, I really think that you need money for going overseas. I like that list of yours. I like how different days have 1 paragraph, then saying " This day is going to be 34 degrees." Keep up the good job!

Shanya:)

Kia ora Moana,
It's great to see you have been blogging over the holidays while I have been away! I've enjoyed coming back to work and reading through your blogposts. I was in Bali in the holidays and the temperatures there were very hot too, always over 30 degrees celsius! I only use celsius so it was great to read Mark's story about the history of Fahrenheit and Celsius - interesting stuff! Rachel is right, you will def need suntan lotion and a sunhat! Hopefully you'll plan to spend heaps of time at the beach. Have you checked out some websites with best places to go in Perth?
