Inferences: Hands Up For Henna

Moana Inferences: Hands Up For Henna          24/10/2017

  1. You are Asli
What would it be like if henna was not available here in New Zealand?
-The existence of henna would not be known and if they see someone with it they are more curious than amazed. But if it was well known in all sorts of countries then they know that there tradition will never dry out and will always be remembered.

2. Explain the significance of henna being used in many different celebrations.
-If you are the bride either at a wedding or a ceremony, then you will be well noticed if you are the only person being there with henna. But if everyone is wearing henna then the bride may be hard to spot out.

3. You are Asli
How do you feel when the henna decoration is complete?
-You feel relieved because you can finally relax your body and show everyone how cool your henna would look. Its also fun because you can then eat and go play around with your family members or friends.
4. You are Marion
Do you think it’s still worth celebrating it away from your home country?  Explain why?
-It would be good because people can learn more about your culture and even start businesses around their country including henna. It makes a good attraction. Marion could even start her own business and potentially get good money.

5. Henna decoration is not allowed at school.
What would you do?
-you could either write a persuasive text to your administrator or principle stating that its culture and should be allowed, or just simple appreciate the fact that it is not part of school normality.
